April Gonzales, MSN, PMHNP
April Gonzales is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor’s of Nursing Degree from San Francisco State University and her Master’s of Nursing Degree from Texas Tech Health Science Center. She has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of medical and psychiatric settings.
She believes every person has the capacity to transcend their challenges and reach their highest potential. She meets her clients where they are in their wellness journey, helps them leverage their strengths and supports them in working toward their goals. She offers a holistic approach to mental wellness, providing treatment options such as medication management, education, supportive therapy and lifestyle recommendations. She takes a conservative approach to medications, with the goal of assisting in the alleviation of symptoms and improving quality of life.
April is passionate about destigmatizing mental illness and improving access to care. She creates a safe space for clients of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to work through any mental health challenges they are experiencing. She is an LGBTQIA+ ally and has special interest in addressing trauma, maternal mental health, BFRBs (body-focused repetitive behaviors), anxiety and mood disorders.
