George Rivers, MS, LPC

George holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology from Texas Tech University; and pursued his Masters in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at El Paso. His academic background has equipped him with a solid foundation in understanding human behavior and the complexities of the mind. Additionally, he is fluent in both English and Spanish, offering a bilingual and culturally sensitive approach to your sessions.

His focus is on supporting clients grappling with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. He draws from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and reshape negative thought patterns, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to challenge irrational beliefs, and Reality Therapy to focus on present actions for positive change. These methodologies are tailored to help you gain insights, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in your life. Beyond the therapeutic setting, he believes in fostering a genuine connection.

On a personal note, outside of therapy, he enjoys playing video games, hitting the gym, delving into books, and spending quality time with family. These interests reflect his belief in the importance of balance and self-care, values that he brings into your therapeutic journey.
