Monica Alexander is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has five years of experience in the mental health field. She has extensive history working with children and families in an inpatient setting, working with intense behavioral issues, foster/adoptive children, and neurodivergent children. Monica has also worked in the school setting which allows further support for children and their families with navigating IEPs and school related processes.
Monica is trained in Zones of Regulation, TBRI, and is a Certified Positive Discipline Parenting Educator which can assist with understanding their child’s behavior in a more effective manner to communicate, problem solve, and regulate emotions. Monica is rostered through the TAG center in Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents, Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents and is Certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. An intervention frequently incorporated during therapy is mindfulness self compassion that helps build emotional resilience. Monica enjoys working with adolescents and young adults to navigate any curve ball thrown their way.
