Sara Manisco Chapo, LCSW

Sara Manisco Chapo, LCSW-TX, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma and family therapy. Her work and interests include Systemic Family Therapy, intergenerational trauma and attachment issues, social constructionism, and psychological research. She is rostered in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, which is a trauma-based dyadic treatment for parents and young (0-6 years old) children, focusing on restoring normal developmental functioning in the wake of trauma (including domestic/interpersonal violence, substance abuse, and/or armed conflict). She has significant experience working with individuals and families experiencing a variety of difficulties, including managing life stressors and relational issues. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for adolescents, and Motivational Interviewing. These therapy tools allow her to have an eclectic approach that is solution-focused; helping clients to recognize personal strengths, find motivation for change, and identify the specific steps to reach the desired goals.
